MANILA, Philippines – Google will hold an event in San Francisco on September 29 that may introduce new Nexus smartphones to the market, CNET reported Wednesday, September 2 (September 3 Manila time).
People familiar with the company’s plans said Google plans to reveal two flagship Nexus devices – one from Korean device maker LG and another from Chinese manufacturer Huawei.
A Google spokeswoman declined to comment on the report, however.
LG has previously made its mark on Google’s flagship line, building the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 phones.
Huawei, however, would be making a Nexus phone for the first time. Should the report hold true and the specifications on Huawei's device pan out, it should provide a lot of positive input for the Chinese manufacturer from the Android community at large.
While iPhone fans will likely be tuning in to Apple’s own event on September 9, Android enthusiasts will want to keep their eyes peeled for official word regarding a September event in 2015. – Rappler.com
