MANILA, Philippines – Want free fiber internet for 6 months? Fiber internet provider Converge is raffling off a 100 megabits-per-second (Mbps) and a 50 Mbps connection to one winner each at a gaming event this coming weekend. Converge's 50 Mbps connection has a monthly rate of P2500 while the 100 Mbps connection is P3500 per month.
Converge's network mostly covers Metro Manila, and Pampanga. (READ: Converge ICT launches 25Mbps monthly broadband plan at P1500)
The event, called "Righteous Glory Summer Spirit Bomb," is a 72-hour videogame streaming marathon featuring online gaming personalities such as Suzzysaur, Eri Neeman, Riku, GLOCO, and Sh1n Boo. Interested parties can experience the event in two ways. They can attend the free live event at gaming lounge Game Over PH at Xavierville Avenue in Quezon City or watch the livestream on the Twitch page of event co-organizer Rumble Royale.
However, the 6-month fiber internet prizes, along with other major prizes, will only be raffled off to those who watch online on the Twitch page. Interested participants will be given a raffle stub once they make a donation online via the Twitch page.
Those making a donation at the live event will be given a stub for the raffle for minor prizes. Organizers are asking for canned goods, clothing, and toys as donations to be given to the event's partner charity Save The Children Philippines.
The event is also raffling off a few game-inspired statues made by two Filipinos artists including an "Infinity Gauntlet" sculpted by Carlo de Laza, and Master Chief from Halo, and Galio from League of Legends by artist Jiggernut. See them below:
The event runs from Friday, May 25 to Sunday, May 27. – Rappler.com
