MANILA, Philippines – Those holding out on upgrading to Windows 10 may want to save all their important data on an external drive and consider upgrading soon.

Microsoft released the Windows 10 operating system (OS) on July 29, 2015, and the company will be turning off the free upgrade from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 to the new OS on July 29 of this year.

With more than 350 million devices already making the switch, it's expected that last-minute adoptees will soon be joining the existing legion of Windows 10 users.

To sweeten the deal, Microsoft also reminded users that it will be releasing an anniversary update on August 2 that is expected to add new features and fix nagging bugs existing on Windows 10.

For gamers, Windows 10's anniversary update is one of the updates you’ll need to enable the Xbox Play Anywhere system when it comes out in September.

Xbox Play Anywhere will allow a user to purchase a game digitally that will be seamlessly playable on his Xbox One machine and his Windows 10 PC.

If you miss out on the upgrade window, however, Windows 10's Home version will cost $119.
